Launching CoursePlanner Web
I rebuilt my college degree planner from a desktop app into a fully functional web app.
Launching CoursePlanner Web
I just launched CoursePlanner Web: https://courseplanner.benbravo.net
This project started as a desktop app, but I wanted something more accessible and easier to use anywhere. So I migrated it into a fully functional web app. Now it does the same job in a way that is a lot more practical. You can open it from anywhere, sign in, and work on your plan without being tied to one machine.
CoursePlanner was built around a problem I actually had throughout college. Planning a degree is not always straightforward. You are trying to keep track of required classes, electives, credits, sequencing, and how everything fits together over multiple semesters. I wanted a tool that made that process easier and more visual.
That is what CoursePlanner has always been for me. It helped me map out my semesters, think ahead about requirements, and make better decisions about how to structure my schedule. It was genuinely useful during my college career, so bringing it to the web felt like the right next step.
The new version keeps that same purpose, but in a more polished and usable format. It is built for planning out a college degree in a way that feels simple and practical instead of messy. The goal was not to overcomplicate it. I just wanted something that works well and solves a real problem.
A big part of this launch was taking something that already mattered to me personally and rebuilding it into something more complete. Moving from desktop to web meant rethinking the app, improving the experience, and making it easier to access. That process took real work, but I am happy with where it landed.
If you are a college student, or just curious, feel free to check it out:

This is one of those projects that feels especially satisfying to ship because it is based on something I actually used and benefited from. It is always cool when a personal tool grows into something you can share.
